how i built audrey ii
i sat down at the first production meeting. i surveyed the faces around me, talking to one another. they were faces which belonged to juniors and seniors. they were faces belonging to veterans of the brown theatre scene. they were faces belonging to three and four year board members of production workshop and musical forum.
i had never technical directed before.
we got down to business. meet the director. meet the set designer. meet the costumer. meet the production manager. what does a production manager do? makes things run smoothly. a stage manager for staff? possibly...
they told me the plant would be rented. whew. i had been nervous about that, having heard about the show, and its giant man eating plant. rented. great. all i had to do was build the set from a set of plans. no problem.
so, sam, she said. she, the director, lauren bass. so, sam. they say you do sound.
that's right.
